StarWars was something I loved as a kid and later as an adult but not something that I could fully enjoy with the lovely action figures from Kenner in my youth. My parents could never afford many toys and if I did have any starwars toys it would be 1 Luke or 1 Han or maybe an R2D2 but never more than one at a time and by the time i'd acquire a new one i'd have already lost my old one or it'd have been stolen by some other fucking kid.
Man thank the maker it's not gonna be as hot as it was last weekend. If I learned anything from the blistering heat and humidity it was that I seriously need to improve the Insulation in out attic. In the afternoon the living room can heat up to 80 degrees. It makes out AC work much harder and costs us more in utilities. I decided to take a look in that attic, something that I had not done at all since moving into this house over 2 years ago. When I went up there I was suprised to see boxes everywhere, i'd say at least 20 medium size boxes and a couple of smaller boxes and a babys crib. Weird. I immediately hopped down cause it was just too hot. A couple of days later a cool day to be exact I went up again and this time i was gonna drag down a box with me. I grabbed one marked G.I. Joe and pulled it down A quickly opened it to find a Planet Hoth Luke Skywalker and a Hoth Han Solo, Not to mention a Storm Trooper a Greedo and a Snaggle tooth. But best of all? A Lando! Rock on! underneath the plastic tray they were in was another plastic tray filled with hundreds of little platic guns and swords and backpacs etc. it was like a supply hut for action figures. I was excited starting to hope there was some vintage Tie Fighters and possibly a Millenium Falcon up there but I was already behind schedule getting ready to go to a friends barbeque so I plan on going up again very soon.
Who left this stuff here? we live in a house that was built in the 80's so any number of people could have lived here and forgot all about their cool toys, I can't wait to see what other hidden treasures are up there.

A strong one, this one.
Wow, I was so effected by StarWars Episode III Revenge of the Sith that I had to take a few days off from my blog.
The anticipation that day I felt, man am I silly. I could barely eat my stomach was in knots I was so anxious to see this film, I didn't expect to feel this way. The closer it got to be time to go to the theater I was just giddy and nervous at the same time. I can't ever remember feeling quite like this before any film.
Where to start? Ok I'll start off with the theater I saw the movie at. The Parks in Arlington. Holy shit you fucks this is the last installment of StarWars ever and you're telling me you can't crank the fucking sound up? Go straight to Mustafar you cocksmokes. This ruined the first 15 minutes or so for me cause I wanted to get up to complain so bad but I also didnt want to get out of my seat and take my eyes off of the screen.
Then I was sucked in right as Dooku shows up and the Lighsaber duel starts and I didn't think about the sound again till the film was over. Man, this is the first of the 3 prequels where the first thing I thought as I left the theater wasn't what I'd change about the flick, but what the characters could have done differently to stop that tradgedy that took place. This movie really Rocks!
I find it hard to go into everything as I've only seen it once and it demands a second viewing because I know for a fact that good sound in a theater will help even better to suck you into the moments that give tingles up your spine. I loved the emperor, holy shit he's so evil and twisted and just manipulates poor Anakin that he didn't have a chance. The way he turns Anakin over when Mace Windu is so close to killing him. "Mace! why didn't you just run him through with your saber?" One moment that I really loved and will cherish this, was when Yoda hops up on Chewbacca's shoulder. I loved that and when Yoda tells him, "Goodbye Chewbacca I shall miss you." sniff. good stuff.
I keep reading about how this film is dark and all that which I couldn't wait to see and you know what? It's true and the one thing I couldn't understand once the film was over was how profoundly sad I was. I was genuinely moved. This could quite possibly be the last time there is ever a StarWars film. God I hope not, but It might be and that makes me sad. Thank you George you hit one out of the park and I loved it.
I am all over the place I know but I gotta see this again before I go majorly into it. When Padme names the babies I was a mess I wanted to just weep like a youngling but I was sitting next to a friend and wouldn't ever live it down. That's a great scene. More to come...

WOOT!
Later this evening it's gonna be time to see Revenge of the Sith! I am trying to stay in the state of excited and not too excited lol like that will work. I just watched A New Hope getting ready to be in the StarWars mood. Man the original trilogy kicks the shit out of the prequels so bad it's not even funny. But, I will take whatever starwars I can get.
Curse you George Lucas you've enslaved me and many others since 1977 and we have yet to escape. Hehe.
I'll write what I think Tomorrow. May the force be with us!
Ugh what a geek.

Hmmn, I think someone needs to pull that bug outta their ass.
I think what it is is i've come to accept and even say out loud that I understand why she wants this and I will go along with it and everything is fine. Then, they start to talk about it and I get all upset again. I'll just bring it up here from now on cause i'm acting like a baby.
Kudos to ALIAS and 24 for running the entire seasons without a single re-run. 24 never does but usually has weeks and weeks of being set aside for the likes of American Idol. Ugh. 24 has been incredibly ridiculous and entertaining at the same time, it's had moments of pure annoyance and moments of pure stupidity but I still love it. C'mon Jack Bauer has killed over 40 bad guys in less than 24 hours that's got to be a record.
Alias had a good start and a lull in the middle. Many say this was to help the LOST viewers jump on and be able to get feelers on what was going on. Big Mistake! But they've gotten back on track with the story arc of the Derevkos an all things Rambaldi. Joel Grey as the Sloane clone or as I liked to call him Marvin Sloane was great! Can't wait for the 2hrs tonight!
I dig LOST don't get me wrong but it's really rubbed me the wrong way the way ABC has dragged out the season having weeks of re-runs at a time then airing a new episode then another two weeks of re-runs it got tedious. But I can't wait to see the finale. I hope that J.J. Abrams wrote and directed the finale.
Tomorrow is Return of the Sith day Woot! I am excited and giddy but at the same time wish my daughter was old enough to go too. Oh well i'll show it to her later. I'll post some semblance of a review after I see it. Keep in mind I told myself I liked The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones then grew to dislike them over time. Don't get me wrong I own both on dvd and have watched them multiple times. I'd almost say I can watch the Phantom Menace now and not be bothered as much as Clones just gets on my nerves. Ugh that romantic theme by John Williams gives me a migraine. AoTC is a stinker that I love like a red headed step child as well as Jar Jar laden TPM. Both have great sound mixes though. Hehe

sufficiently vented
I feel better now. I will be ok. I will do this for my baby and my Wife. I love them both very much and I just need to get over it.

Why am I letting this shit bother me so much? Is it true that I always want my way? That I am a selfish ass-hat? Why is the fact that THEY want my daughter baptised bothering me so goddamn much? Is it because I want her to choose herself? Or is it because I don't want them too cause I think that it's all horseshit? Shoudn't I not care then? If it's all harmless, should I just laugh and have a little smirk as they fill the house of the Lord and watch as blessed (pronounced bless-ed) water is poured on her head.
Maybe it's the fact that I feel like I had no say in the matter. They just waited for the ol' Jastrom to pushover. Pfft.
I need to get over it cause it's gonna happen with or without me and I need to be there for my daughter.

The bridge is burning
There's a guy who lives across the street from us and he is so proud of his fucking motorcycle or chopper whatever you want to call it. It's 8am and my daughter is still sleeping and this asshole is revving his engine over and over, it's so damn loud it's ridiculous. I picture the engine exploding and the guy taking wheel spokes to the jugular or better yet just moving. The guy is probably already deaf. I don't know why people do this to their hearing, it's like these guys in their Bass Mobiles thumping down the street, Just wanted to let you guys know to say goodbye to your hearing at an early age. Just wait there will be news reports around the year 2010, "an epidemic is sweeping the nation, Early deafness has set in for millions of generaton y and x'ers, why? cause they thumped to loud ass window shaking bass in their cars eager to show the other sheep how they pimped out their rides." so sad. Good, serves them right.
There is that instance when you realize that a certain someone in your life that has brought nothing but hurt feelings and pain that you decide you do not need this person around anymore. At first you decide not to talk to them as much, make a conscious effort so they get the hint that you don't want to talk to them, sometimes it can be a little drawn out since people are generally clueless, they want to speak constantly with no interruption so you can't tell them they are full of shit. Then that painful part comes when they finally get it. 'this person doesn't want to talk to me?' and they make and effort not to speak to you. They may play the victim, 'what'd I ever do to him?" but you shall not waver. They get it and they know no matter how much they pretend not to. You do not need this person in your life, you've forgiven and forgotten way too many times to count and you're not going to do it anymore. Goodbye asshole don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.
The bridge is buring and there is no putting it out.
Now onto other stuff. I didn't get time to mess with pic.s and links and stuff yesterday, but I will soon. I didn't list the best shows on tv that I am watching either cause I thought about it and I want that on the side panel.
Back in the day being my late teens and early twenties I was a Director freak I praised all my favorite directors from, James Cameron, Sam Raimi, Ridley Scott, and George Miller to John Woo and couldn't wait to see any film they cranked out. Well, over time I've not been as interested as I used to be and I've found myself being more into Television show creators and writers. I still love Movies don't get me wrong but there is an unknown renassiance in television right now of great drama and entertainment going on. I say unknown like I have a secret, hell it's known I just want to sound mysterious, there is alot of horrible television on right now too you just have to sift through the bullshit. Shows like CSI and Survivor and The Apprentice are like fast food for the bloated. I'm not into that shit, I usually watch CSI:Miami cause fucking Caruso cracks me up.
I'm talking about people like J.J.Abrams, Joss Whedon, and Ron d. Moore not to forget Rob Thomas and Tim Minear. These guys have created such great shows as Alias, Lost, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, The new Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars and Wonderfalls and the new show on Fox called 'The Inside'. I've found myself more excited to see what these guys will come up next than my old favorite directors and these guys so far have yet to disappoint me. J.J. Abrams Alias is a great show that I highly recommend cathing up on DVD seasons 1-3 are already out and season 4 is about to wrap up. Lost is a great show as well that keeps getting better. Joss's show Firefly which was cancelled early on by Fox was a fantastical show crossing the space opera with the western with an assortment of great characters that is now going to be a major motion picture called, SERENITY. Ron Moore's new take on Battlestar Galactica is some of the best drama and sci-fi on television right now! Don't miss it! Veronica Mars by Rob Thomas is kinda like a cool Nancy Drew with great storylines and mystery and a strong female character that we can all admire. I didnt watch Wonderfalls and apparently no one else did either cause FOX shit-canned it pretty fast, but Tim Minear wrote some of my favorite episodes of Firefly and I hope he hits a homerun with The Inside. Too bad it's on Fox.
